Looking to make changes to your eating habits that are realistic and lasting? Confused about nutrition and don’t know where to start? Interested in cooking, but crunched for time? If you answered yes to any of the above, I’m glad you’re here!
Simply put, I’m a dietitian who helps busy people eat healthy by making realistic and gradual changes. I specialize in the basics of nutrition, and translate the principles of healthy eating into simple steps that you can take every day. What does that mean? Meal planning, nutrition counseling for general wellness or specific concerns, education materials for your needs, cooking classes, and more.
By now, you’ve probably gathered that I’m a veggie enthusiast. Or maybe you read about why I love vegetables. Veggies play a large role in my nutrition philosophy and advice, but they aren’t the only component. I believe in sustainable eating habits, and advocate for balanced plates that emphasize vegetables but include all foods. I believe in counting colors, not calories. My approach is rooted in a non-diet mentality that can lead to lasting wellness. I encourage my clients to discover the best, most nutritious foods for them.
Nutrition can be intimidating at first. You may have a number of questions running through your mind: “did that ice cream I had last night ruin my week of eating salads?” or “how do you even roast vegetables?” Spoiler alert: there is no “one size fits all” diet. You are the expert when it comes to your health, and what works for one person may not work for another. I’m here to give you evidence-based advice, to ease your concerns and answer your questions, and to help you figure out the best eating habits for you!
My methods are individualized, and consider your circumstances, budget, schedule, and unique goals. Whether you are a seasoned pro in the kitchen, or just beginning your wellness journey, I am here to help you! Eating healthy does not mean spending hours in the kitchen, and I provide creative solutions for those with limited cooking skills, time, or kitchen access. Plus, I help you understand the why behind balanced meals, and the benefits of good nutrition.
Since I’m all about making things easy, and helping you fit nutrition into modern life, I conduct most of my nutrition counseling sessions online. Read more about virtual counseling here. I also offer some sessions, such as my cooking classes and grocery store tours, in person to clients in the Twin Cities metro area.
It’s never too late, or too early, to begin to make gradual changes to your eating habits. Let’s start with the simple steps you can take, every day. Ready to get started? Shoot me a note here!
I can’t wait to meet you!
