Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen blood orange wedges from about 3 small blood oranges
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt I used full-fat
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 teaspoons Nature Nate's honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened oat milk can sub milk of choice

Instructions

  • To freeze the blood oranges, remove the peels and any seeds. Pull apart the wedges and place them on a lined baking sheet. Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer. Place it in an area where it can lay flat. Freeze for about 2 hours until the wedges are frozen solid. Use the wedges immediately in the smoothie or place them in a freezer bag to store for up to 3 months.
  • Combine frozen blood oranges with the rest of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth!

Notes

  • Other possible additions: shredded coconut flakes, hemp hearts, milled flaxseed, chia seeds, nut butters, or frozen berries (use red berries to keep the smoothie pink)
  • You can make this smoothie up to a day in advance. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
