Bursting with fresh flavors and creamy texture, this delicious cilantro garlic sauce recipe is bound to become a new favorite condiment! It pairs well with tacos, burritos, fish, vegetables, salads, and more. Plus, it’s easy to make by blending together cilantro, lime, garlic, Greek yogurt, and a pinch of salt.
Last month, I picked up the most beautiful bunch of cilantro at the farmers market! It had such a fresh smell that every time I opened my fridge, I was hit by its amazing aroma. I just knew I had to turn it into something delicious for all of you!
Enter: this new lime cilantro garlic sauce. It’s creamy. It’s dreamy. And it’s oh-so-easy! Seriously, you just have to blend some cilantro with a few other ingredients and voila, you have a versatile sauce and dressing.
I love to drizzle this sauce over my Crispy Smashed Black Bean Tacos, burrito bowls, fish, and salads. It would also taste delicious on vegetables, like my Fajita Veggies, for a fun side dish. I can’t wait to hear all of the great ways you use it! Be sure to report back and leave a comment at the bottom of the post.
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Cilantro: Of course, this is the main ingredient! If you don’t like or have cilantro, you could use other fresh herbs like parsley, dill, or basil or use a combo of cilantro and one of those herbs.
- Greek yogurt: I like to use plain, whole milk Greek yogurt, but you can substitute low-fat or nonfat Greek yogurt or sour cream.
- Garlic: I recommend using about 3 cloves. If you like the taste of garlic, add more.
- Lime: Use the juice of 1 lime, which is about 2 tablespoons. You can substitute lemon juice if you don’t have limes.
- Salt: A little pinch of kosher salt brings out the delicious flavors in this sauce!

Blend until creamy and smooth! Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Storage
Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last for up to a week and possibly longer. Give it a good smell and inspect it for any signs of mold before using if it’s been over a week.
Serving
This creamy, zesty sauce is a match made in heaven for tacos, especially my Crispy Smashed Black Bean Tacos, Ancho Chile Black Bean Sweet Potato Tacos, Lentil Walnut Taco Meat, and Radish and Black Bean Tacos (use it in place of the crema). Drizzle it over Spaghetti Squash Burrito Bowls, Chicken Fajita Bowls, or Vegetarian Taco Quinoa Casserole. I also love it on fish! The opportunities are endless!

We liked this on top of the yummy crispy black bean tacos. My husband especially liked the tartness from the plain yogurt. Thanks for the recipe!
